Hexagonal
cutter shafts offer ease of maintenance because we are driving on
six (6) sides instead of 1 or 2. Allows for wear and stresses to
be distributed evenly for easy removal of cutters even after
extended runs. 4150
heat-treated cutter shafts are the highest quality steel available
for shafting, through hardening gives us extended life. Cutters
are through hardened to 58-60 Rockwell C and can be re-ground and
used several times without re-heat-treating. Extended cutter life
less maintenance cost. Heavy-duty
spherical roller bearings handles extreme loads for longer bearing
life. Split
oil caps and grease caps allow easy removal without taking any
other components off the shredder. Drop
areas between cutting chamber and bearing caps allow extruded
material from cutting chamber to fall free to the ground and not
contaminate bearings as in some other manufacturers. Auto
reversing eliminates damage to cutters and cutting chamber and
allows material be re-oriented and grabbed again to expedite
shredding.
